When I was young and people asked what I wanted to be when I grew up, first I said an artist, then a fashion designer, then a cake decorator. Throughout my teens and early twenties, this answer changed a lot. For me, it has always been about creating. Whether its a painting, a card or a cake, creating is my ultimate passion in life. I got my bachelors in Psychology, and decided I would do something in that field. Right before I graduated, a cake decorating position at the bakery I worked at, as a cashier, fell into my lap. It was never something I expected but I gave it a go. Over the next few years, I rediscovered my love for cake decorating and realized I had a knack for it.

My skills began to grow and I started sharing my cakes with the people around me. When I would meet friends of friends, and tell them my name, many people would respond with “Oh you’re the cake lady!” I realized I had my very own little community around me and wanted to develop it further. I love that my cakes allow me to make connections with new people, and reconnect with old friends. Being a small part of so many people’s special events fills my heart with such joy and appreciation.
